In short
The Oscar-Walcker-Schule is a public vocational school in Ludwigsburg whose instrument-making department teaches apprentice organ builders, piano and harpsichord makers and wind-instrument makers from all over Germany in nationwide block classes, alongside their training in a workshop. It also runs a full-time master school in organ, piano and wind-instrument building, and the site announces a one-year vocational school for piano making from September 2026. The school, named after the organ builder Oscar Walcker, traces its instrument-making tradition to 1938-1940, when it gained a technical school for organ building and then a master school for organ, harmonium and piano building.
