The Goldschmiedeschule mit Uhrmacherschule in Pforzheim is a state vocational school of Baden-Württemberg for goldsmithing, jewellery and watchmaking. The school traces its history to 12 September 1768, when the first teacher of a state-funded vocational school started work in Pforzheim; it became an independent goldsmiths' school in 1905, and watchmaking moved under the same roof in 1973. It offers full-time vocational training for goldsmiths and watchmakers, a three-year college programme in jewellery and object design leading to the title of state-certified designer, a technical school for design in jewellery and objects, a master school for goldsmiths, a vocational course in engraving and metal design, and programmes in electroplating and product design.
