In short
Lemarié is a Paris maison d'art founded in 1880 by Palmyre Coyette to supply milliners; it works in feathers, fabric flowers, couture, pleating (Atelier Lognon) and textile embellishment for haute couture, has made CHANEL's camellias since the 1960s, and joined the Métiers d'art de la Mode in 1996. In its flower workshop artisans shape each petal in volume with an embossing tool, while in the feather workshop experienced artisans curl, cut and colour the feathers. The house, resident at le19M since 2019 and holder of the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label, says it invests in passing on its skills from generation to generation.
