In short
The Politecnico Calzaturiero is the training, services and technology-transfer centre of the Riviera del Brenta footwear district, based in Capriccio di Vigonza near Padua. Its main programme is the School of Footwear Design and Technique, a two-year course with pattern-making tracks and optional third-year specialisations, which grew out of a historic course that celebrated its hundredth anniversary in 2023. It also runs a School of Leather Goods Design and Technique devoted to high-quality bags, short catalogue courses on design, production, quality and footwear history, continuing training for companies, and a course for knitwear linking operators. It states that it is accredited by the Veneto Region as a training body.
