In short
Industrial design at Purdue University is taught in the Art and Design area of the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance, in the College of Liberal Arts in West Lafayette, Indiana. Based in Yue-Kong Pao Hall of Visual and Performing Arts, students learn to create products, systems and services, working in wood and metal shops alongside a laser cutter, CNC machine and 3D printers, and later in dedicated design studios with CNC rapid prototyping. In their junior and senior years they take on corporate-sponsored projects; the school also offers minors such as ceramics, textile design and jewelry and metals.
