In short
The Sámi Education Institute (SAKK, in Northern Sámi Sámi oahpahusguovddáš) in Inari is an upper-secondary vocational school specialising in Sámi handicraft (duodji), reindeer husbandry and the Sámi languages, for young people and adults. Its duodji programmes cover gemstones and precious metals, with a first year centred on Sámi jewellery; soft materials, including the clothing of the student's own family, leather and sisna work, yarn work and weaving; and hard materials such as reindeer antler and bone, birch burl and tool steel. They lead to the vocational qualification in crafts and design (artisan) and to further and specialist qualifications in Sámi handicraft.
