In short

Samiedu is a vocational college at Pohjolankatu 4 in Savonlinna, also offering online study. Its artisan programme in the product-making field of the vocational qualification in crafts and design trains theatre prop makers, who work with a range of materials to make props for opera, theatre, museums and events. Students take part in real projects with partners such as the Savonlinna Theatre, the Savonlinna Opera Festival, Riihisaari – Savonlinna Museum, the Lusto Finnish Forest Museum and Olavinlinna castle; an interiors artisan programme is also offered online.
