The Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology was created in 1969 as the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic and took its current name in 2017. Among its technical and vocational programmes are a Certificate and a Diploma in Cabinet and Furniture Making, covering furniture construction, jigs and patterns, wood carving and caning, upholstery and finishing, with an industrial attachment, and a Certificate in Garment Technology. The institute is located at Wildey, St. Michael.
