Sangmyung University's College of Design on the Cheonan campus includes majors in ceramic design, textile design and fashion design, alongside other design fields. According to the department histories, the textile design department was created in 1987, ceramics became a separate department the same year, and the College of Design was established in 1990. The ceramic major holds graduation and coursework exhibitions; both majors are housed in the design building in Cheonan.
