Ikata, the Ikaalinen craft and design school of the Sasky education consortium, is a national vocational school for the cultural sector in Ikaalinen; it states that it offers 18 fields, several of them taught nowhere else in Finland. Students take the vocational qualification in crafts and design (artisan), as well as qualifications in media and visual expression and in music production. Craft programmes include guitar building, fine cabinetmaking in solid wood, glassblowing, studio glass and jewellery design and making, with restoration and textile courses alongside.
