In short
The Schnitzschule Elbigenalp, officially the Fachschule für Kunsthandwerk und Design, is a four-year craft school in Elbigenalp in the Lech valley, Tyrol. It traces its origins to a drawing school founded in 1835 by Anton Falger; the carving school itself was established in 1951 on behalf of the Land of Tyrol, and a department for painting, gilding and lettering design was added in 1989. The sculpture branch teaches wood carving, modelling, stone work, casting and basic restoration, while the second branch teaches decorative painting, water gilding, lettering, sgraffito and fresco.
