In short
The Fachschule Lederdesign is a three-and-a-half-year leather design school within the Schulzentrum HTL HAK Ungargasse in Vienna's 3rd district. In four workshops students learn the craft of leather goods maker and bag maker: in the first years they make a range of small leather goods, and in the third year handbags and models of their own design, alongside general education. The course prepares students for direct entry into leather-working trades, and the school notes that it is also a starting point for related trades such as orthopaedic shoemaker, upholsterer and vehicle saddler.
