The Scuola Merletti di Gorizia teaches Gorizia bobbin lace and is run by ERPAC, the cultural heritage agency of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, from its seat in Via Diaz in Gorizia. Its ordinary course leads to the diploma of master lacemaker and trains students to design, draw and make finished pieces in bobbin lace; it also runs intensive and introductory courses, which the school says are free and held at several places in the region with the training body ENAIP FVG. Its teaching goes back to the first lace course started in Gorizia in 1946, and it also runs a lace showroom in Corso Verdi.
