The Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli is a mosaic school in Spilimbergo, founded in 1922 and run by a consortium. Its three-year professional course for master mosaicists, for up to forty students a year aged 18 to 40, centres on workshops in mosaic and terrazzo, with drawing and colour theory, computer graphics, materials technology and mosaic history, and can be followed by a specialisation year. The school also offers short courses and restoration work, and keeps more than 800 works on permanent display that visitors can see alongside students at work.
