In short
The Scuole di Stile e di Alto Artigianato di Solomeo are the craft schools that Brunello Cucinelli set up in the village of Solomeo, in Umbria, inspired by the ideas of John Ruskin and William Morris, in a purpose-built classical building and in rooms of the castle. Teaching is practical and led by master craftspeople: three-year courses in women's pattern making and tailoring and in men's tailoring, and one-year courses in linking, knitwear mending, knitwear and pressing, with gardening and masonry also taught. Students attend up to eight hours a day and receive a monthly grant, as well as lessons that prepare them for self-employment.
