Shiraz University of Arts has faculties of performing arts, visual arts, architecture and restoration, archaeology and museum studies, and industrial and applied arts. Its carpet group, in the Faculty of Industrial and Applied Arts, admitted its first 26 students in 2013 and teaches hand-woven carpet with weaving and restoration and design specialisations; workshops cover design, weaving, restoration, dyeing, miniature painting and kilim design and weaving, together with carpet history, economics and museum work. The university's administrative building is at Adabiat crossroads in Shiraz.
