In short
Sjöviks folkhögskola is a folk high school in Folkärna, in southern Dalarna about ten kilometres outside Avesta; the school states that around 300 participants study there daily. Its Textile Craft with Ceramics and Image course teaches weaving, weave theory and binding, natural and synthetic dyeing, embroidery, textile printing and wool, together with ceramics (slab, coil and pinch building, throwing, sculpture) and image-making, with longer projects and an exhibition in the second year. The school also runs a log-building course (Timringsutbildning), which it says is Sweden's only year-long one, teaching traditional log construction and the renovation of timber frames.
