In short

Sörängens folkhögskola is a folk high school in Nässjö run by Region Jönköpings län; the school traces its roots to the county folk high school opened in 1876 and has had its own site at Sörängen since 1915. Its ceramics course gives a basic training in ceramics, mainly functional ware with strong emphasis on craft: materials, throwing and other forming methods, firings, glaze and decoration techniques, and an introduction to fusing and slumping glass. The ceramics workshop has electric wheels, electric and gas kilns and, outdoors, two wood-fired kilns and a raku kiln, and is open to students around the clock.
