South Metropolitan TAFE is a public vocational institute in the southern Perth area. Its fashion courses are taught at the Bentley campus, which the institute describes as Perth's leading fashion design institution for over 50 years; they run from the Certificate III in Apparel, Fashion and Textiles (garment construction) to the Diploma and Advanced Diploma, with CAD patternmaking, grading and illustration facilities and industrial sewing machines, plus short courses in millinery and 3D virtual fashion. The institute also offers the Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction as an apprenticeship, covering design, drawing, timber plugs and composite moulds for vessels from kayaks to superyachts.
