In short
The Secondary School of Applied Arts in Ústí nad Orlicí, run by the state, began in 1892 as an imperial-royal weaving school; since 1997 it has taught art fields, building on a long textile tradition. Its four-year art courses with maturita are fashion design, textile and interior design (original interiors, author textiles, accessories and products), product and packaging design, graphic design and animation, and applied photography and media. It also offers technical courses in advertising and packaging and in mechanical engineering, and a toolmaker apprenticeship. The school also runs evening courses, including lithography.
