Stadin ammattiopisto (Stadin AO) is the City of Helsinki's vocational college, offering qualifications in many fields. In crafts and design it trains upholstery artisans, who learn to pad and cover both modern and traditional furniture and also work on public interiors and vehicles, and offers an interior decoration track; further and specialist qualifications in upholstery, up to master upholsterer, are available as apprenticeships. Its textile and fashion qualification includes made-to-measure dressmaker, milliner (hats, belts and gloves), fashion assistant and sewing machinist.
