Steinfachschule Wunsiedel

The Staatliche Fachschule für Steintechnik und Gestaltung in Wunsiedel, part of the BSZ Selb vocational school centre, offers two-year full-time further training as a state-certified stone technician or as a state-certified designer specialising in interdisciplinary design, which combines stone with wood, metal, glass, ceramics, plastics, fabric and colour. Preparation for the master craftsman examination in stonemasonry and stone sculpture is integrated into the technician course, and students work in workshops for wood, model-making and stonemasonry. Applicants need a completed apprenticeship in a related trade, such as stonemason, and at least twelve months of relevant work.
