In short
The Steinmetzschule Königslutter is the vocational school for apprentice stonemasons and stone sculptors from northern Germany, taught in block courses, and also runs a two-year full-time course for state-certified stone technicians that includes preparation for the master craftsman examination. Training covers stone sculpture, lettering and ornament, restoration and the design of natural-stone objects. The school was established by decree in 1941 and works alongside the neighbouring training centre of the stonemasonry trade; it has a guest house for students.
