Stenebyskolan

Stenebyskolan is a school in Dals Långed, in Dalsland, started as a foundation in 1991 at Steneby, where craft education goes back to the 1920s; it shares workshops for wood, metal and textiles with the University of Gothenburg's Campus Steneby. It offers two-year higher vocational programmes (yrkeshögskola) for fine cabinetmakers, furniture restorers and upholsterers, run in a business-like way with real commissions, and a further year aimed at the journeyman's certificate (gesällbrev) or specialisation. It also runs a preparatory art, craft and design course with several specialisations, including clothing, form and design, and textile art and design, as well as summer courses such as silversmithing, jewellery casting and upholstery.
