In short
The Secondary School of Applied Arts for Glass in Valašské Meziříčí was founded in 1944 and continues the earlier trade and factory training of the region's glassmakers. It teaches glass design, applied painting, industrial design, artistic glass craft and a glassmaker and glass finisher apprenticeship. Glass design students design vases, bowls, lighting, glass sculpture and architectural elements and make them in the school's studio glassworks, and also learn glass painting, sandblasting, stained glass, fused and sintered glass and glass jewellery. The school has painting and cutting workshops and the GLASS CENTRUM laboratory, which works on glass technology research.
