Suzhou Art & Design Technology Institute is a public higher vocational art and design college by Shihu Lake in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province; it traces its origins to the Suzhou Arts and Crafts College founded in 1958 and was formed in its present form in 1999. It has schools of handicraft arts, fine arts, visual communication, environmental art, fashion design, industrial design and digital art, with programmes in both traditional arts and crafts and modern design. The school hosts a Ministry of Education base for Su embroidery and works on Taohuawu woodblock New Year prints, and its decorative arts courses include ceramic art design and carving, with ceramics, lacquer, jewellery, glass and fibre art studios.
