Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science, a college of S.N.D.T. Women's University on Juhu Tara Road in Santacruz West, Mumbai, was established in 1959 and has had autonomous status since 1995–96. Its Department of Textiles & Fashion Designing offers a degree covering fashion illustration, textile design for printing, computer-aided textile design, draping and grading, garment construction, traditional Indian textiles and embroideries, and textile testing. The college also offers a four-semester M.Des. in Fashion Design, including an executive programme for working professionals.
