In short
The Faculty of Carpet of Tabriz Islamic Art University began its teaching and research when the university was established in 1999, taking in carpet students first admitted in 1996. It trains students in carpet map (pattern) design at bachelor's and master's level, and in fibre dyeing and carpet management at master's level, with an associate-degree programme at its Heris faculty. Its facilities include design and weaving workshops, carpet restoration and repair rooms and natural and synthetic dyeing laboratories, and weavers, designers and dyers from the Tabriz carpet market teach as visiting lecturers. The faculty is on Azadi Boulevard in Tabriz.
