The Fashion Design Studio is the TAFE NSW specialty school for fashion in Sydney; it opened in 1955. It offers a three-year Bachelor of Fashion Design with work placements and a final collection, a Diploma of Fashion covering textiles, design, illustration, branding and marketing, and a Certificate III in Design Fundamentals (Fashion Design) with illustration, colour theory, technical sketching and computer-aided design. The school states that it is the only fashion school in Australia invited to take part in Australian Fashion Week.
