Tainan National University of the Arts is a public arts university in Guantian District, Tainan. Its Department of Material Arts and Design, established in 2006, teaches art, craft and design in workshop-based classes divided into metal, ceramics, fibre, wood and design, and its Graduate Institute of Applied Arts, founded in 1997, offers a master's degree in contemporary crafts in metal, fabric and ceramics. The Graduate Institute of Conservation of Cultural Relics and Museology trains conservators of paper and oriental painting, oil painting and wooden objects, and ceramics and stone.
