In short

The Department of Industrial Design of Tatung University is in Zhongshan District, Taipei. It grew out of an industrial design section of the university's former five-year junior college, opened in 1966, and became a university department in 1973; a master's programme was added in 1995 and a doctoral programme in design science in 2005. The department trains product design and development professionals, with emphasis on creativity, physical and digital prototyping and design communication.
