The Tecnológico Nacional (Instituto Nacional Técnico y Tecnológico, INATEC) is Nicaragua's public institution for free technical education and vocational training, with headquarters in Managua and, according to the institute, 61 centres across the country with classrooms, laboratories and workshops. Its technical training offer includes the areas of textiles and clothing, wood and furniture, and leather and footwear, alongside crafts and many non-craft sectors. Programmes range from the technical baccalaureate to general and specialist technician levels, plus short vocational courses.
