The Gordon is a TAFE institute in Geelong, Victoria, which opened in 1887 with night classes for tradespeople and now operates across four campuses. At its East Geelong campus it teaches cabinet making and furniture making: a four-month Certificate II in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology as a pre-apprenticeship, and the Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology as an apprenticeship, which covers the manufacture of fitted and free-standing furniture and stains, polishes and decorative finishes. A Certificate II in Furniture Making Pathways is offered to secondary-school students.
