The Institute for Art and Olfaction is a non-profit organisation in Los Angeles, founded in September 2012, devoted to access, education and experimentation with scent; since 2015 it has been based on Chung King Road in Chinatown. It runs laboratory-based perfume classes online and in person, from open blending sessions on its perfumer's organ to courses on accords, materials and perfume composition, and five-day perfumery intensives with perfumer Spyros Drosopoulos covering technical perfumery and formulation. It also runs a gallery and, since 2014, the annual Art and Olfaction Awards for independent and artisan perfumery.
