In short

The Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering of Delft University of Technology was founded in the 1960s, when Joost van der Grinten, appointed professor in 1962, set up a degree programme in industrial design within the architecture faculty. Today the faculty teaches a three-year bachelor in Industrial Design Engineering, taught in Dutch, followed by three master's programmes; minors range from automotive design to sports innovation, and since 2013 it has run master classes for design professionals. Its approach combines technology, ecology and an understanding of people, with design taking shape in sketches and prototypes of products, services and strategies.
