In short

Turun ammatti-instituutti (TAI) is the vocational college of the City of Turku, part of the city's education services. In its textile and fashion programme students learn to design and make textile and fashion products, with materials, pattern cutting, sewing and product design; the basic vocational qualification takes about three years, full time, and leads to work as a maker of design textiles or a fashion assistant. Students with experience can also take further and specialist qualifications in the field, and the school's TAIn Tikki service takes small sewing and alteration jobs.
