In short
The School of Art and Design of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, housed in the Windgate Center of Art and Design, offers a B.A. in art and a B.F.A. in studio art with emphasis areas. The school states that it has the only furniture design programme in Arkansas: the furniture design emphasis teaches the design and the hand and machine skills needed to build furniture, functional objects and sculptural wood forms, in a wood shop with digital fabrication and metal fabrication equipment. The jewelry and metalsmithing emphasis covers fabrication, forging, forming, hot and cold connections, surface treatments, casting and finishing, and an 18-hour Certificate of Proficiency in Applied Design combines courses in ceramics, furniture and woodworking, or metalsmithing and jewelry.
