The Universidad del Este, a private university in La Plata, offers a four-year Licenciatura in Clothing Design in its Faculty of Design and Communication, with an intermediate title of Technician in Clothing Design after three years; the degree has national validity (Ministry of Education resolution 663/09). Following a «learning by doing» approach, students show their work in exhibitions, fairs and the university's annual fashion show. The programme prepares graduates to design and produce textiles and clothing, including printing, knitting and dyeing, pattern making, collection building and garment making, to develop accessories and footwear, and to design costumes for theatre, film, television and performance.
