The Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design (Desenho Industrial) of the Federal University of Santa Maria is taught at the Centre for Arts and Letters (CAL) on the Camobi campus in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. According to the course history, it began in 1967 as a graphic arts track, became an independent course in 1979, added a Product Design track in 2005 and since 2015 has combined its tracks in a single programme. The daytime, in-person course is planned over ten semesters.
