The Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture (FADA) of the University of Johannesburg groups departments that include Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Jewellery Design and Manufacture, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Multimedia, Visual Art and Architecture, and is based on the Bunting Road campus in Johannesburg. The Department of Jewellery Design and Manufacture works on both commercial and high-end fine jewellery, with an emphasis on conceptual design and computer-aided design and manufacturing. The Fashion Design department offers Fashion Production and Fashion Design programmes, and the Department of Industrial Design, which began at the School of Art, Johannesburg in 1963, teaches product design through sketching, CAD and model-making in its own building on campus.
