The Faculty of Visual Arts and Design of the George Enescu National University of Arts in Iași traces its origins to a painting school founded in 1860, which became a national school of fine arts in 1864; it has had its current name since 2012. Bachelor's programmes include textile arts and textile design, design (environmental, product and graphic design) and conservation and restoration of mural and tempera painting, alongside painting, sculpture, graphics, photography and mural art. Master's programmes include fashion studies, design, mural art and ceramics in public space, and conservation and restoration.
