The Faculty of Arts and Design of the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza was constituted in 1980 as the Faculty of Arts, bringing together the university's higher schools of visual arts, design, music and theatre; a school of ceramics was created later, and the faculty took its current name in 1998. Its courses include Industrial Design, the Licenciaturas in Artistic Ceramics and Industrial Ceramics and a teaching degree in Artistic Ceramics. Industrial Design trains designers of objects for industrial or artisan-industrial production, from utensils and furniture to equipment.
