The Universidad Gestalt de Diseño is a private design university in Xalapa; it began in 1987 as the Escuela Gestalt de Diseño, offering graphic design diplomas, and took its present name in 2010. Its degrees, recognised by the Secretaría de Educación Pública, include Industrial Design, covering furniture, lighting, tools and the digital modelling of products, and Fashion Design, which covers design and planning as well as dressmaking and production of garments and accessories such as jewellery, footwear and bags. It also offers a master's in Industrial Design and Production. The university is at Avenida 1° de Mayo 113, Colonia Obrero Campesina.
