In short

The University of Derby teaches a BA (Hons) Fashion at its Chandos Pole Street building in Derby, which houses specialist fashion and textiles studios and industry-standard equipment. The three-year course introduces fashion design for the ready-to-wear market in the first year, puts more emphasis on the commercial world in the second and ends with independent work towards a final collection; second-year students are encouraged to take an industry placement, which adds a Diploma in Professional Practice.
