In short
The University of Glasgow offers two-year master's programmes in conservation. The MPhil in Textile Conservation combines academic study with professional training in specialist conservation laboratories, with links to Glasgow Museums and the university's Hunterian Museum, teaching by visiting museum specialists and a summer work placement; the university states it is the only programme of its kind in the UK. A second master's in Book and Paper Conservation offers specialisms in book and archival materials or paper and is based at the Kelvin Centre for Conservation and Cultural Heritage Research.
