The School of Art & Design of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral programmes, among them a BFA and an MFA in Industrial Design, a BFA in Studio Art with a Fashion concentration, and degrees in graphic design, art education and art history. Industrial design students design and prototype products such as toys, sports equipment, housewares and medical devices, ending with an individual senior project. The Fashion concentration covers apparel construction, textile design, pattern making, materiality and fashion history, with an emphasis on sustainability.
