In short
The Faculty of Art and Design of the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi offers six degree programmes in Finnish at bachelor's and master's level, master's programmes in English and doctoral studies, with a focus on Arctic design and art. Its fashion and textile design programme (bachelor and master of arts, 3+2 years) covers the design and production of clothing, textile products and their materials, combining design skills, material knowledge and making skills with sustainable life-cycle thinking. The faculty has design and art laboratories and studios, including woodworking and metal workshops, a plastics studio and a fab lab, and runs twelve galleries in Rovaniemi.
