In short
The School of Art, Art History & Design of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, part of the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts, offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in studio art, art history and graphic design; studio art areas include ceramics and sculpture. The ceramics facilities in Richards Hall include an electric kiln room, a covered outdoor kiln pad, a glaze mixing kitchen and a clay mixing room, and the school also has a woodworking fabrication space and sculpture studios with wood, metals and foundry. The university's separate Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design is being closed: on 5 December 2025 the Board of Regents voted to eliminate its programmes, and it no longer accepts new students.
