The University of Westminster, whose history begins with the Polytechnic Institution opened in London in 1838, teaches fashion at its Harrow campus in north-west London. Undergraduate courses include Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing and Promotion, Fashion Business Management and Fashion Photography; postgraduate courses include Menswear, Fashion Manufacturing and Fashion Sustainability. The Fashion Design BA lasts three years, or four with an industry placement year, and covers design, cut, construction, print and CAD; the university states it was the first undergraduate course to show on the official London Fashion Week schedule.
