Vakschool Schoonhoven, part of the Zadkine vocational college, is the training centre for goldsmiths, silversmiths, jewellers and watch technology in Schoonhoven, the Dutch silver town; it has been linked to the gold and silver trade since 1895 and states that it is the only trade school in the Netherlands for these fields. It offers MBO programmes in precious-metal work and jewellery and in watch technology, taught by teachers from the trade, as well as courses and training for professionals and enthusiasts, some held at course locations in Veghel and Arnhem. The school works with partners such as the Dutch Guild of Goldsmiths, the Federatie Goud en Zilver and the Dutch Silver Museum.
